Dr. Takeshi Naitoh


Prof. Takeshi Naitoh is a chairman and professor at the Department of lower gastrointestinal surgery, Kitasato University School of medicine. Prof. Naitoh graduated from Tohoku University School of Medicine in 1990. He visited the Minimally Invasive Surgery Center, Cleveland Clinic in 1995 as a research fellow, where he spent most time in clinical cases and animal research. Prof. Naitoh is a first fellow of Prof. Michel Gagner after he moved to the United States and performed many historical procedures with Prof. Gagner. He has been recognized as an expert in the field of colorectal cancer surgery and bariatric/metabolic surgery in Japan.

Prof. Naitoh is the President of the Japan Society of Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery (JSLCS), and the board of governor of the Japan Society for Endoscopic Surgery (JSES), and the Japanese Society for Treatment of Obesity (JSTO).

Prof. Naitoh is the editorial board member of the journal of Surgical Case Report, which is the official case report journal of the Japan Surgical Society, and the managing editor of the Asian Journal of Endoscopic Surgery, the official journal of the JSES.

His scientific interests focus on colorectal cancer surgery, and bariatric/metabolic surgery and its mechanism against T2DM.
