Dr. Martha Quiodettis is the second of four siblings. When she decided to study Medicine at the University of Panama (UP) she knew that the competition would be complex due to the high demand and only 140 places at the time: however, she was in the first group of Medicine. She pursued her career and her specialization studies between the birth of her daughter Alexa and her son Cristian David, with the supportive help of her family and her husband who is also her pillar, Dr. Gerardo Cardenas. "I had a supportive family environment; otherwise I would not be here," she explains gratefully with an enthusiasm that spreads joy.
Dr. Quiodettis, a native of Chiriqui, graduated from the University of Panama (UP), did her residency in General Surgery at the HST and from 2008 to 2010 studied at the Ryder Trauma Center of the University of Miami (USA), a subspecialty in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Medicine, until her return to Panama when she rejoined the Unit.
